Two clubs have become the first teams to reach the quarter finals of the inaugural 2022 British Inter-Clubs Mixed Team Championships.
Hampshire’s Stoneham GC and Middlesex’ Enfield GC are now just one win away from the national finals at Boavista Golf Resort in Portugal later in the year.
Top 100 club Stoneham reached the south west regional final after an impressive away victory against Dorset champions Dudsbury GC.
Despite having to give 37 shots as a team in stifling conditions, the Hampshire champions won 4-1 to earn a quarter final place against the winners of Wales’ Mond Valley GC and Herefordshire’s Leominster GC.
Joining them will be Enfield GC, who enjoyed a comfortable 4-1 triumph at home against Surrey champions Camberley Heath GC. Next up is a south east regional final against the winners of Bedfordshire GC and Girton GC.
All four regional winners will qualify for the finals at the beautiful Algarve from November 7-10.
