Four teams from different parts of the country were landing in sunny Portugal today for the finals the inaugural 2022 British Clubs Mixed Team Championships.
After several months of competition, the four regional winners will do battle over the next three days to become national mixed champions.
After a practice round tomorrow, the semi-finals on Wednesday will see south west champions Stoneham GC (Hampshire) playing Midlands winners Belton Woods GC (Lincolnshire).
Meanwhile south east champions Bedfordshire GC will take on northern winners Stocksfield GC (Northumberland) at Portugal’s Boavista GC in the western Algarve.
And with the weather looking great for the week in the early 20 degrees, the four teams of five mixed pairs will finish the week on Thursday with a grand final and a third place play-off.
For those clubs who fancy their chances of emulating them, entries have now opened for the 2023 championships. Teams can take part by emailing info@mixedgolfevents.com
