Competition debutants South Winchester GC are one step away from the national finals of the 2024 British Clubs Mixed Championships.
The Hampshire side secured their place in the last eight with a narrow 3-2 victory over county rivals Romsey GC.
Next up is a trip to Somerset’s Worlebury GC, who earlier defeated Berkshire’s Mill Ride GC 4.5-0.5.
South Winchester are newcomers to the third season of the competition and, ironically, have 2022 champions Stoneham GC to thank for taking part.
Competitions secretary Jos Kerr explained: “We were playing a match against Stoneham who told us about the competition. It’s been fantastic fun and we can’t wait for the quarter finals now.”
