A Hampshire club has become the first side to reach the finals of the inaugural 2022 British Clubs Mixed Team Championships.
Top 100 club Stoneham GC enjoyed a 4-1 victory over Mond Valley GC in the south-west regional final to end the Welsh team’s gallant run in the competition.
Stoneham have now qualified for the national finals at Boavista Golf Resort in Portugal’s Western Algarve from November 7-10.
Joining them will be the winners of the three other regional finals – Stocksfield GC v Fleetwood GC (North), Bedfordshire GC v Enfield GC (South East) (playing Sep 17) and Belton Woods GC v Shropshire’s Hill Valley GC (Midlands) (playing Sep 24).
